Multitude Monday

It's time for another edition of Multitude Monday!

Each weekish I like to share ten things that I'm currently thankful for in my life. It helps to keep me aware of the positives in my day-to-day experiences, and it's also a great way to start my week. There are so many things in each of our lives that can weigh us down, but if we stop and think about it, we are so blessed. I am so blessed. Feel free to use the idea and start your own list. I got the idea from another friend a while back, and now look. It's been 46 weeks of Multitude Mondays!

Today, I'm thankful for:

450 - getting to hear Dan speak at our church last night. He's the best.
451 - a delicious new recipe that's company-appropriate. I'll share it with you this week!
452 - coming home to a clean, vacuumed apartment on Saturday. So spoiled!
453 - spending Sunday evening with Mom and my baby brother. We watched The Help - it was great, but I must admit - I liked the book a lot more.
454 - new episodes of Income Property on HGTV online. I'd love to own a home with rental potential!
455 - a nice week of shifts this week - Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
456 - the fact that my mom doesn't mind driving me to work every morning. Having her live so close is the best.
457 - talking to my Dad on the phone last night. He's coming home in a couple of weeks - yay!
458 - how long my toe nail polish this time - seriously, it's crazy! Well over a week without any chipping, must be a new record.
459 - a great past couple of days after having a few sad ones earlier in the week.

What are you thankful for today? I'd love to hear!

Currently

Cutest carrot crab ever that came with my yummy crab cakes a few weeks ago. Longest caption ever. You're welcome.

Wow! This blog has really been put on the back burner lately. Life has been busy, but not really with blog-worthy, share-worthy things. I started back to work a couple of weeks ago and it's hard getting back into a routine. It's really difficult to make the time to work, read, make meals, exercise, spend quality time with Dan and my family and blog.

I thought that I would get you up to snuff with what's going on with me right now.
I'm currently...

Watching Once Upon a Time. Is anyone else hooked? It's my favourite current show, hands down.

Learning Spanish online. Here in Nova Scotia, we learn French as a language throughout our school years. I thought it would be fun to learn a new language... getting started on my course this week!

Wishing that I was living closer to more friends. I miss so many people that I'm close to... some days are lonelier than others. I wish that there was a way to chat everyday - or at least regularly.

Waiting to see what the rest of the year holds. There could be some changes in the future... and I'm craving change. More on that soon.

Teaching myself to be more active. I've been walking and hiking regularly and it feels really good! Sometimes Dan goes with me, but I've been walking at our local track, too.

Loving the fact that I got to have a movie night tonight with Dan and our friend Rachel. We saw Mission Impossible 4, which was actually really good! It was great to sit on the couch and veg together.

Giving thanks for the fact that I have a job for the next few months... and that I'm going to be learning a few new skills on the computer and in the flower shop.

Thinking about how much fun it will be to spend the weekend with Kelsie next weekend. I need some serious Kel-time.

Saving up for a new bike - I'm torn between a pretty road bicycle (mint green, natch.) or a mountain bike. I need both equally... at least that's what I'm telling myself.

Trusting in the Lord to take care of me and my decisions. "Casting all of your care upon Him; for He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7

Hoping for an awesome spring and summer that will be full of lots of new memories.

Praying for a miracle. Many miracles. I'm praying for you tonight, readers... and my friends every night.

Happy Saturday, folks!

Hope your weekend rocks!

Living Room Update

Here's a look at the newest piece of furniture in our home! I couldn't resist picking up this chair yesterday. I know that yellow and grey are quite trendy, but the combination of the dove grey and cream is a total classy combo. * I desperately want a matching chair - so if you're headed to the Maritimes after a Target trip in the near future, please, please, please hook a girl up. * I want to have a set of chairs for our living room... and eventually in a master bedroom, entry, or den.

The chair looks great with our robin's egg walls and grey sofa. My current sofa cushions match the chair quite nicely, too:

I love that it helps to lighten the feel of the living room. I'm so much more draw to light colours than dark, but our living room feels a bit heavy sometimes. The new chair is the perfect addition.

And with the new chair being added to the room... I'm itching to get rearranging! I have the windows open this afternoon and the fresh air is flowing through our home. It's the perfect time to rearrange.

So what do you think? You likey?

Happy Tuesday - and "happy birthday" to my Mom!

Multitude Monday

It's Multitude Monday!

Every Almost every Monday, I like to list ten things that I'm thankful for. It helps me to get off to a great start every week - it's so nice to focus on the things that are going well in my life instead of the always present negatives. Feel free to join in, whether through your blog or a personal journal or list. My new pal Caitlin told me today that she's going to start a Multitude Monday list!

Today, I'm thankful for:

440 - Dairy Queen's new peanut butter frozen hot chocolate. Delish!
441 - free (or at least let me think it is!) Canadian healthcare
442 - a beautiful new living room chair (I'll share later this week!)
443 - a possible girls' weekend coming up soon with Kelsie
444 - Dan's spiffy new haircut - I'll miss the long shaggy do, though
445 - the first signs of spring - I heard the frogs the past few days
446 - seeing the first bits of growth in the greenhouse at work
447 - children's colourfully painted handprints on canvas
448 - the best. sleep. ever. last night
449 - my Mom and Dad both turning another year older this week

What about you? What are you currently thankful for? Do share!

Happy Monday!

T-Bay Rocks.

As you may (or may not) know, I was in Ontario for a week visiting darling friends, Patrick and Janelle. I got back last Tuesday, and now I've finally got my act together to get posting some pics! I wasn't good at keeping track of what we did, but I had so much fun and can't wait for another chance to go and visit!

It was my first time flying by myself (eek!) but I did okay. I used Earplanes on the recommendation of a friend, and they worked wonderfully for the trip there. On the way back, not so great... but that's okay. I was a bit sniffly, too, so it might have been that. I'd highly recommend Earplanes, though, if you have trouble with your ears while flying. For under ten dollars, why not try them, eh?!

I miss my darling little Sam-wise! He's the cutest kid I know... and I know some pretty cute ones :) We had a lovely time together, and I felt that we really bonded. He's going to be a fantastic big brother!

Janelle and I spent most of our days together, as P-dogg is a workin' man. We met him for picnic lunches a couple of times, which was fun. I had some yummy food with the Labelles - including Persians. They're a T-Bay specialty... and I'm craving them already. It's an awesome cross between a cinnamon roll and a donut, with raspberry icing. I brought some home for my family and they were gobbled up in no time!

I met lots of new friends while there, too. Yay for Facebook and the ability to actually stay in touch with someone after hanging out with them a couple of times!

Janelle, Sam and I went to see the most spectacular waterfalls. Here's a glimpse of what they looked like... although it's impossible to capture in a photo.

I also met Caitlin, who is basically my newly discovered twin. See her awesome sailboat shirt? She and I both bought it when we went shopping, we're that cool. (I got the shirt that I'm wearing in the photo, too.) Yay for new friends!

I got to see the Sleeping Giant from a few different angles, which was pretty cool. The first few days that I was there it was really overcast and foggy, so you couldn't see out that far. Doesn't it look like a sleeping giant? So cool. And I got to touch Lake Superior. Sweet.

Thanks for being such lovely hosts, J + P! I can't wait to bring Dan with me the next time!

Happy Thursday!

Over the Weekend

Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to go to an awesomely intimate concert with my friend Rachel. We saw Jenn Grant perform at our local civic centre, and I'm so glad that we went! Her dreamy voice is quite similar to Jill Barber, if you're a fan. There were about thirty people there, which was a new experience for me. Loved it! (And for $20, how could I pass up the opportunity for a fun Saturday night?!)

Jenn was accompanied by her husband, Daniel Ledwell, and the two of them sound so lovely together. He was mostly on the piano and a couple of other instruments, but sang backup for a few songs. She snuck a few new songs into the playlist from her upcoming album, and I think that they may be my favourite yet. I can't wait to pick up a copy when the album, The Beautiful Wild, is released. Here's a link to one of her older songs, Everybody Loves You, so you can get a feel as to what she sounds like.

(As a side note: I'm totally envious of anyone that can pull off a maxi dress. If you can rock 'em, rock 'em!)

Hear any great music lately? Do share!

Happy Tuesday!

T-Bay

I'm back from the best vacation I've had in a long, long time and finally feeling caught up. It took me a few days to get some sleep and housecleaning under my belt, but now I'm back on track. I'll be back here on the blog tomorrow - be prepared for some great posts over the next few days!

Happy Monday!
