Lush Showdown

It's time for another Lush showdown!
This week, it's Sandstone versus Summer Pudding
Let the best soap win!

Sandstone is a beautiful exfoliating soap. At first, the sandy bits seem a little too intense, but I promise, your skin will love it! The soap itself is silky smooth, moisturizing as the sand strips the dry skin away. The scent smells like lemon drop candy, or lemon Lifesavers. It's a delicious combination of lemon and sweetness. It's fresh and summer-y. Awesome stuff.

Summer Pudding is a lovely scented soap. It has a fruity, cherry almond smell - very soothing. The texture of the soap? Not so great. It doesn't lather very well, and I didn't feel super clean after using it in the shower. Would I buy more? I don't think so - although the cherry almond-ness was a fun scent to try out.

The verdict? Sandstone wins, hands down. If you are looking for a new body scrub, why not try this product? It's a soap and exfoliating product in one - perfect! I received a sample size in an online Lush order, and I also got a full sized piece in a Christmas present - lucky me!

Lush Holiday Showdown

I bought some Lush goodies on the weekend, and got some new holiday samples to try out. Both of them are new to me... so here we go...

It's a holiday Lush showdown! The battle between bath supplies - may the best product win!

First up, Angel's Delight soap. This product's pros: smells delish, and has a creamy texture. It's cons: it's a bar soap, and there is not a lot of lather. I love the scent, but bar soap kills me: you've got to let it dry thoroughly and it doesn't lather very much.

Next, we have Glogg shower gel. This product's pros: there is oodles of lather, and it's easy to dispense. It's cons: it smells like Buckley's, and it smells like Buckley's. This bad boy is supposed to be mulled wine scented, and all I get is cinnamon and cough syrup. Not cherry flavoured, cough syrup either: Buckley's. The cinnamon scent does stay on your skin once you're dried off, so that helps.

Final verdict? I'm going to have to go with Angel's Delight. It smells like jelly beans and feel smooth on the skin. I can't wash myself with cough syrup, sorry.

Lushie

I think I've found one Lush product that I'm not impressed with: Up You Gets.

Up You Gets is an Emotibomb - a little fragrant fizzy tablet that you place on the floor of your shower. I've tried one other Emotibomb and loved it. I had picked this one up a while back and was saving it for a special day off so I could enjoy it... bad idea. I forgot that certain Lush products should be used as soon as possible. When I bought Up You Gets, it smelled delish. It was a yummy citrus overload. After a month or two sitting in its little paper bag under my bathroom sink, I think it lost its oomph. I used it this morning, and when I first placed it in the shower, there was one burst of citrus scent and then nothing. Nada. I guess this is partly my fault, but I'm not sure if I'd buy another one to try. Sorry Lush, this is the first time you've disappointed. My other Lush shower goodies, on the other hand, make my morning.

Speaking of showers, I've had my eyes opened towards the wonders of the wide-toothed comb. Several friends had told me that they use it to work conditioner into their hair, so I picked up a comb last week and tried it out this morning. Why has no one told me sooner?! My hair feels silky smooth and I think I could get more than one day out of it. Aahh... what a discovery!

Happy Friday!

Lushie

I've discovered a new favourite product. I'm always on the look-out for a great shampoo that can help de-frizz me, and I think I've found the key to hair happiness...

Big is my latest Lush crush! It smells fabulous - the other day I was craving the scent, so I snuck some from the shower to wash my hands with. It has the coolest texture: think fluffy icing with tonnes of sea salt mixed in. I was a little apprehensive about the sea salt - what if it gets stuck in my hair? It washes out wonderfully, and you only need to use a little scoopful of the shampoo. Which is wonderful, considering the price: $22.95 for 330 mL. Like every Lush ingredient, though, it's made from all natural ingredients... and the amount of volume and shine makes it worth every penny.

The verdict? Head to Lush now to get some for yourself! You won't be disappointed.

Happy Friday!

Lushie

Greetings from mid-week!

Those of you who know me, know that I'm a huge Lush fan: a lushie. Here's the definition of a lushie from Urban Dictionary:
Name for a female who is obsessed with the bath and beauty store Lush and knows all about the handmade, vegan, organic products and how to use them.
"This chick knows about these products so much, she should work here"
"She must be a lushie"

Now that that's out in the open, I'd like to share some of my favourite products with you... keep in mind, this is just an assortment, not every single product that I love. The nearest Lush store is four/five hours aware, but you can order their products online. Take a peek...
Porridge soap - my all-time favourite!

Sexy Peel soap - a refreshing citrus number

Mask of Magnaminty - it's a face mask, but I love it as a cleanser!

HIWTK (see above) solid perfume - perfect for your purse... no spills!

Breath of Fresh Air toner - the best I've ever found... refreshing and no alcohol!

Coconut deodorant powder - the best summer accessory :)
Ring of Roses buttercream - a great in-shower moisturizer

So there you have it: a Lush wonderland. If you've never used one of their products, consider this a prod in the right direction!

An important fact to note: I am in no way endorsed by Lush... I wish I was, but I'm just a happy customer.

Happy Wednesday!
