What's In My Bag?

Am I the only one that loves to be nosey? A peek into a messy room, a look into someone's closet, or a shot of their purse... I'm game! There's something in all of us that likes to see the nitty-gritty in other people's lives, tidy or not. Here's a look at what's in my purse today:

After I weeded out all of the receipts and random items that I didn't think were very photo friendly (ahem, feminine hygiene products, I'm talking to you!) this is what I ended up with:

Liz Claiborne purple wallet

Vaseline hand lotion (great - non-greasy!)

gum (one of my favourite kinds)

sunglasses (love a good vintage look)

hairstick (for those times that I need to get my hair up)

bobbypin (just one... for emergencies, I guess)

giftcards for Lush and Stokes (yay for Christmas!)

mittens for our snowy/unpredictable Canadian winters

Lush Cosmetic Lad facial moisturizer (the best!)

Revlon "Sky Pink" matte lipstick (still on the fence about this one)

Dr. Bronner's almond soap (for an upcoming project)

Body Shop Born Lippy strawberry balm (my #1)

Lou Lou Bell make-up bag (love a good woodgrain)

What's in my Bag?

I haven't done one of these posts in a while, and I figured it was a great chance for my to clean out and switch purses. Let's just say that hasn't been done in a long, long time. I was actually laughing about it, and decided to write down the contents so you could have a chuckle, too.

In my messy purse, I had...

2 notepads, 2 flyers, 2 giftcards, 2 business cards, 2 hotel room cards, 2 subway tokens, 3 bandaids, 2 paystubs, 30 receipts, 2 coupons, 4 expired coupons, $11.13, 0.30 in Canadian Tire money, a postcard, tissue, camera charge, my brother's puffer (!), gum, bookmark, button, pen, gelato spoon, grocery list, cardboard coffee cozy, ring service plan, Epipen, Tylenol, Benadryl, car key, sunglasses, throat lozenge, wedding shower invitation, Thinsations, recipe, and a day planner.

What?! After I cleaned it all out and switched to a pretty purse, here's what the contents looked like:

The pared down contents included:

my wallet, "believe" bookmark, gift card holder from Heidi, cosmetic bag from Janelle, lip gloss from the Body Shop, Benadryl, Epipen, Tylenol, 2 notebooks, day planner, Disney pen from Lauren, and gum.

What you don't see in the picture above is the guy I had to keep fighting off:

I have a very nosy pup that has to investigate absolutely everything, and gets very insulted if you don't let him. He's my little darling, though, and I love him.

Nothing too exciting this go-round... but here`s something exciting: I will be doing a regular bag post!

Changed Plans and The Week Ahead

Funny how plans change, eh?

We were going to travel to see our friends this weekend, but the roads were really dangerous: two major accidents between home and their city. The highway was closed for several hours, so we decided it wasn't worth the risk... tomorrow I'll have pictures of how we spent the weekend instead.

I've got some big plans this week - most of which I'll share with you on this blog! The biggest project is a revamp of this:

• My Etsy shop is getting some serious love this week. I'll share my work in progress, along with some product shots.

• I'm aiming on doing a DIY post as well this week - something fun for you to create!

• There's a spring/summer trends post in the works, some really pretty shots to inspire your wardrobe and work with what you have with only a few new pieces mixed in.

• I'm redoing the art wall in our living room, so that will be a fun before and after post.
  
  
• It's time for my monthly "what's in my bag" post - colourful looking-for-spring edition :)
  

• Last but not least, I'll be sharing my 23 before 24 list... most are little goals and plans, but there are a few bigger aims thrown into the mix.

What's In My Bag?

This is the first edition of a new monthly post, "What's in my bag?". I've seen it done on other blogs and it's a whole lot of fun.

My bag: a thrifted over-sized clutch... like, the most over-sized ever. I can just about fit the kitchen sink inside.

Wallet: a purple Liz Claiborne number - with a cute bow. It's the best one that I've found in a long time - and the liner is kelly green - how can I go wrong?

- Lush lip balm in Let Them Eat Cake - it's so yummy and addictive, but what isn't from Lush?!
- Mark's magical lip gloss - it turns colour on your lips
- Battery charger for our camera
- Bath and Body Works magical hand lotion aka Shea Cashmere - oooooooh my fav!
